image back up on usb

i am using updated blackhole image. 1.43b
working fine
i am trying to save ALL my setting in image,on usb if any thing go wrong i just plug usb with out connecting my computer to the box.

idiots guide please

On your remote

Menu-setup-software management

Choose backup system settings and press OK.

You restore them from the same menu.

Is that what you mean or do you want to backup the complete image ?

what i means save complete image,
the settings,cam info including my info,

basically the way i have setup the box almost like cloning

Press the Green then yellow button. Look through the addons downloads for script downloads.

Download the USB backup script install and reboot.

Now with your USB stick formatted to fat32 and connected to one of the rear usb ports press the Green then Blue button and highlight USB Backup and then press OK.

Your backup will start.

thank you for the reply.

i have done what u said but no result.

1. without mounting it went through the process for approx 10min and said finish.
2. i checked and there was nothing on usb checked in vu and pc.

3. mounted the usb and went through the same process and it gave me error
/usr/script/backup_usb.sh:line 3 /media/usb/back.sh not found
excution finished''

As you mounted the usb you deleted the backup.sh. Simply reinstall the script off the server and reboot and try again.

i have reinstalled the script from down loadserver.
i have reformated my usb fat32.
i have the usb pluged at the back.

i have same problem goes through the process and there is no back on my usb.

Every thing i mentioned here works mate exact same methods i use when i make my backup image.

Can i ask are you using a backup image or is this a blackhole image you configure from scratch ?

When you select scripts on the addons panel how many option do you have because one option is for the older images

Your backup will be located under

media/usb/backup or could be media/usb1/backup or media/usb2/backup

You have to ftp in to retrive it.

Hi ferret
I try that you say above but i get an error that says

Examine free memory it approx 60mb
Memory is small 60mb
create swap on USB with 60mb

When competes i go to media/usb and nothink but an empty folder

What i make wrong?

It creates a swap to give memory to the backup process.

Well if it completes the backup must of been made.

Depending on which slot you plugged your USB into could give a different path

/media/usb/backup
/media/usb1/backup
/media/usb2/backup

Also try restarting the VU as th file does not always show until you do.
