Press the Green then yellow button. Look through the addons downloads for script downloads.

Download the USB backup script install and reboot.

Now with your USB stick formatted to fat32 and connected to one of the rear usb ports press the Green then Blue button and highlight USB Backup and then press OK.

Your backup will start.

vuplus duo crashed and wot reflash

:mecry:Hi Ferret,

You helped me a couple of months ago and need your help again master.
My VU+Duo crashed and wouldn't start (it keeps giving green screen) because of an incompatible skin (sily me)and have tried to Re-flash it with both methods without success.
Method One:
I put the usb stick in the front usb slot with the vuplus/duo folders and the three files. however when I switch on the VU it starts with reading usb then after a short while it says starting and switchs from booting to starting all the time (instead of erasing/programming as supposed to be in order to flash the image).

Method Two:
With a serial cable it says port open and then I switch the VU with the correct ip addresses (VU & PC) and wait for the utility file to ask for the image file (nfi) however nothing hapens?

Could you please help as I am stuck and thinking of sending the VU back to the supplier as it could be faulty?

Hi mate

Hmmmm when you try the USB method have you any other usb devices plgged in if so remove them.

As for the VU utility method you need to use both null modem and Ethernet cable together.

Format it on your PC first as fat32 & then stick in box & use BH menu to set mountpoint & to set its path.

For your back up problem reformat your usb to fat32 then pop it back in the VU and use the device manager mount it.

Then download the usb backup script again, you have to do this as some of the files actually install to the usb stick.

Now try use the script. It should work if you follow this work for me every time.

Oh one other thing you should also setup a swapfile on the usb for the VU to use during the backup process. The script will try do this if it does not see one which might be why you assumed it froze.Better to set that up first imo.

Ferret told you: before backing up your image on usb make sure you have at least 128 MB of swap file.
create it in BH image
blue/blue/swap
