I would like to receive help installing OSCAM on my Edison OS mio+ 4k with Openatv.

So far I have 'OSCam_11.726-r798' installed under Softcam settings but when I try to decrypt a channel nothing happens.

I guess I'm doing something wrong and would love to get help getting back on track.

Thank you!

Have you had a look in the webif of the receiver to see if oscam is running. Take the network ip address of your box and put the ip address into your computers browser that is on the same network. The boxes internal webif should appear, then scroll down and near the bottom on the left hand side it should say oscam. Click on this and it will take you into the oscam log page and you can check if your server is showing.

Well it means that oscam is running but i am unsure if you are hiding your server details or not. I am assuming you have bought or was given access to a server and you have put these details into oscam.server.

OSCam server?I did not enter an IP address anywhere nor have I purchased or been given access to such a server. What should I do? Im learning step by step and hope this isn't a problem to help explain how this process works.

You need to have a softcam key file in your config location usually at etc/tuxbox/config or etc/tuxbox/config/oscam-emu and have the key for the Biss or PowerV service you are trying to open in the key file. You could install the keyadder plugin and add the key with that if you have it.

Ok! I understand what you say but how do I do this? Where do I get/find the key? I hope you don't hate helping a noob like me....

In the key section of the forum just go through and download some of the softcam key files that are posted for the public and open the key file with notepad ++ and view it to see if any of the keys are what you are looking for. That is how I did it when I got started a few years ago and it is really the best way along with lots of reading the guilds that are posted.

So from what you have said you have simply put oscam on your receiver and started the cam. I am guessing you thought that would give you access to some channels other than the free ones. Unfortunately it does not work like this. You can follow tc308 instructions and you maybe will get the odd channel open or you can do down the server route for lots and lots of channels. It would also be interesting to find out what package you want to view.

The channels I'm looking at are on 99.2W. there areNBC Biss channels. Then on 105W there is a VA channel.

Does this help?

On 99W, you could watch programs in BISS and Director via EMU.
On 105W, you could watch programs in BISS and PowerVu via EMU.
EMU - permanent access to the Internet is not required

Hi EnoSat, What is EMU?
Now we know what channels you are looking for just follow the advice about softcams. 😁
Do you know of good instructions to follow for OpenATV ver 7.3 Enigma2 version 7.3. I'm using Edison OS mio+ 4K

Hello Everyone,

Above EnoSat presented his setup and mine is just like his. However, I don't get any Biss NBC channels on 99.2W Ku band or PowerVu from VA channel on 105W ku band.
Is this because the channel is not broadcasting? Do I need to add a file and folder somewhere? I'd like to know what the issue may be. Thanks!

nbc have been moved to tp 11760H. maybe biss keys are not good anymore..
VA on 105ku are FTA, and are on/off from day to day...

Biss keys are the same for NBC. Still good. I think WilburSmith needs some good configs and key file. Only way to know is if he posts what he has in his config folder.

There is also another option that @WilburSmith can try that could be a little easier. Attached is the levi45addon file. It can be put on a usb stick and installed on a box via the ipk installer or media browser. Its has all the latest cams such as ncam 14.# and that has lots of configs built in. Within the package you can also download softcams which can be updated online and also an option to be able to input keys via the remote directly into the softcam.
