Hello mate

This can be done by any FTP app but most use DCC. You need to connect your 500 up to a router with a cat5 cable. You can do it with just a network card in your PC but a router make things easy.

You mean for flashing yeah you can buy usb-serial adapters google them. Or if you have a PCI slot in your PC a PCI-RS232 card is a better solution.

These adapters can be problematic some work some dont.

Maybe someone can recommend a brand that does work.
