HDD question

hi i want to put hdd drive in dm800, i format it in the
PC to save time through third party program in ext3 not FAT32
but the DM wont start properly it hangs in the welcoming page,
I checked all the connections to no aval. should i reformat it back to NTFS and then
from DB i format it to EXT format?

format in fat 32 first then it should be ok

from the little i know, fat 32 can't handle large sized files i wanted to ask, can it record hd movies (approx 4Gb+)?

its very rare I recorded on mine so perhaps someone else can reply, how big is the hard drive you are installing.

the capacity is 640 GB, i have format it as you said in fat 32
and the box still hangs in booting page but it start normaly
when i unplug the hdd don't you thing the problem
lies somewhere else?

yes I have heard of this problem in the past on the 800's I have an 800se with no probs, boot it up afterwards then insert the usb lead then go to device manager and mount it or even try an initialize this will format it aswell

Thank you for the help it's sorted now, this is how
while the box is up and ruining i hooted the drive to the box
the went to device manger still not recognized, i went to tspanel/tools/device manager and the hdd is showed there so
i initialized it from there and reboot and is recognized at last
and i mount it.
