Hi all :thum:

i been looking at the way i can fix a usb port to the front of my Technomate TM-5300 D+ USB Super.(why do you want to do that. i hear you all ask lol) reason is i dont want to keep pulling out the box from my cabinet to get to the usb port at the back and it would just tidy things up as i got loads of wires everywhere. lol.

Anyway it looks like i can fit a usb in the front ok......Then i relise there loads of space inside the box to install a pocket hard drive. as im using a 80 gig external pocket hdd already im thinking of puting this inside, its only the small ones (laptop size 2.5).

So what im asking is Has this been done ????? if yes has anyone got a link so i can have a look...

and if its not been done???? why not...is there reason that it can't be done..

i do relise that the front and back and hdd needs to be switched so it not cause conflicts thats not a problem.....i just cant think why its not been done yet.?????.

if anyone got any ideas please let me know

Hi,

I'm waiting for the warranty to expire on my TM9600HD so i can have a look inside. I have an old usb 2.5" drive case which i can maybe hardwire to the board if not someway fit a usb hub somewhere giving more connection options.:D

hi guys

i still got warranty also lol. but i not to bothered if i mess things ups lol but i cant realy see any problem fixing it in. Anyway im gona have a go very soon....i will let you all know how i got on....im not quite sure if im allowed to post pictures to show step by step of how i do it...

anyway got to be worth a try.

lol :D i thought of velcro. but i'm gona make it a bit more permenant. but still be able to download files to and from computer to hdd via usb conection. ive only manage to put a led in so far for hdd . coz the other-half keeps moaning that she cant watch any telly :mad:
lol...ive already told her i'm gona trade her in for a new model. but that did not go down to well either :rolleyes: so i got to hold off at least until the darts has finished lol....

it all fun and games in this house lol.:thum:

i'm trying to get away from wire, (extention) as i have to many wires floating around where i keep my sat box.

by fixing everything inside the box and adding a usb to the front of the box means i wont have to drag the box out of my cabinet every time theres a update.

when compleated i can just plug usb stick in front of box to update and if i need to access the hard drive for any reason like for example: save a film i may have recored to computer to put to a dvd disk i can just connect a usb cable to the front of box and download to computer.

i am also thinking it maybe possible to make it wireless...but that will be a later project lol:D:D

i mess around and design alot of my own electric circuit boards im not a profestional i just do it as a hobby...

im very happy to hear from anyone with any ideas.;)
