Well now run out of ideas. I cleaned out the biss table, all 40 entries, and put just the current satback key in place 1. No difference. I then did a factory reset and entered just Telstar 12 as the only satellite. Scanned, got all the expected channels listed. Setup BBC1 with PIDS and Biss and it cleared as expected. Setup BBC1 HD, same problem.
I then downloaded the channel list and inspected it with Clarke-Tech editor. It looked fine.

The only new info to report is that all SD channels clear (I put in all the PIDS) except 5Select and TBN UK. Guess what, these two channels are SD but share the HD MPEG 4 flower. They are not on MPEG 2 like all the other SD channels.

So it's some problem with MPEG4 only, AFAICS.

Anyone out there with a brilliant suggestion please let me know.
Here's my motorised list from M2 with working channels, just add biss keys
Let me know how you get on.

Manic01 did you see my reply, back on page 86. Your CNDF solved it for me. Many thanks. I think it has only just appeared there.
I was referring to Algarve reception, yes I saw your reply glad you are sorted👍

Here are the answers to the problem:

With Manics01 channel file, where all channels are working, I deleted all channels and re-scanned. No channels cleared.

Inspecting and comparing the BBC ONE HD entry on the two channel files using Clarke-Tech editor:

Manic01: VideoPID 22985

Mine: VideoPID empty

Both files had the same values for SID 17450, PMT 660, PCR 6601, VIDEO ECM 65535 AUDIO ECM 65535

This is why I have always had to enter the PIDS manually and it is impossible to enter a number with more than 4 digits.
All the sat lists Lyngsat, King of Sat etc. give the video PID as 6601 for BBC ONE HD. Back in the days of Intelsat 907 startup we were told to enter the same value for PPID as the video PID here 6601.
Doing that manually, it does not clear. Rebooting, checking BISS is correct, and entering VPID = 6601 APID = 6602 PPID =6601 it does not clear.

By the way, trying to edit in Clarke-tech, entering 22985 into the Video PID box brings up "Value must be between 0 and 8191!"

I can only assume that the firmware in my TM5402 M2 reading the VPID when scanning is too old for todays high value (5 digit) VPIDS.

The STB firmware is Software version: 1.01p October 24th 2013.I hope this is helpful to others with similar problems.
