Free app for iphone worth a look

I was checking out the itunes store lastnight and came across a super free app which works great with our VU+.

It's called dreaMote, you can use it has a remote using the net. Great if your out and want to record something, also if you cannot find your remote. It's also very fast :thum:

Could someone confirm that it works with the VU+DUO?, and with the openPli image. I say that because the web remote doesn't work and perhaps the iPhone application works with the same protocol.

I can only use this app when im in the house connected to my network. It does NOT work when im out of the house etc.

Any ideas how to get this to work?

you need an addy to connect from outside of the house,it works quite good.

How do you mean mate? By 'addy' do you mean another application?

no you need the ip of your reciever either in the DMZ or an opened port in your router, then get yourself a dyndns or no-ip address and log on with that.

Hi mate, I have a dyndns so do I type that in to my iphone app where it asks for the ip?

Ahh jeez mate, Ive just typed in my dyndns address on my works PC and I can view the whole of my dreambox channel lists etc WITHOUT being asked for a password! Im wide open!

How can I change this mate?

just turn webinterface off if thats what you are seeing if you get to the dreambox folders then change your password.

Yes I can basically see the channels and it allows me to 'instant record' them etc..

It doesnt allow me to go in to box control etc.

So do I need to go in to DCC to password preotect people being able to change my channels IF they got hold of my dyndns?

i think you can enable password protect now on web interface if not turn it off.
