hi, guys.

sorry for my poor english ...
I have 3 dm800se clone (sunray) sim 2.10.

one of that box seems to have second stage corrupted.
I've downloaded flashup from http://www.sat-universe.com/showpost.php?p=841002&postcount=22.

I've connected box with winxp pc (all drivers ok, com12 found, box recognized when flashup connected & box switched on).

I want to send in serial mode (no network connection) SSL84D (sim2_800SE_SSL84D.nfi) to box.

flashup recognize the box, send a temporary ssl to clone (OLED displays ssl logo, ip address, and serial mode message). with "flash" button of flashup, I send SSL84D to box, that seems to receive it correctly:

12.24.14 box type: DM800SE
12.24.27 Calculating checksum...
12.24.29 Uploading file to box...
12.24.31 box is flashing from its memory...

when transmission is finished, and message "box is flashing from its memory..." was returned, I can wait for hours, but I cannot receive answer from box.

the file was correctly transmitted, bat flashing was not initiated (none was written to mtdblock2).

if I try with another (FINE WORKING) dm800se, the same conditions appear to me: no box flashig.

there is a new versione of flashup? You have notice of a similar situation? were I can find information about first stage interactive commands, so I can write a serial temporary second stage loader?

thanks a lot for your attention.

If you have a mini flashup button on the rear use that to put it into http mode and flash by browser.

thanks, ferret.

but this is not an answer to my questions ...
the box have the net interface KO.

even if the net interface was ok, I want to use serial loadinf for SSL. why thw boxes are not flashing the code transmitted?

good night.

Well try an original version of DreamUP to see if that helps. Flashup is not needed for normal tasks its more suited to recovering boxes with No CA error.

I have 3 clones, not 3 original dm800se.

if I use dreamup (I've tried with version 1.3.3.11), the temporary SSL that the program send to box was for original dm, and the box receive correctly the transmitted data, but display on oled the "no ca error" due to original dm ssl on clone box.

one of my answer is: there is a new versione of flashup? not, dreamup for original dm800se, but a software that send via rs232 a clone ssl to box, executing the complete correct flashing of that ssl.

another my anwer: where I can find informations about first stage interactive commands, so I can write a serial temporary second stage loader? only flashup exists for clones (or I know only that), but knowing the instructions accepted by the first stage loader, it is simple to construct an alternative ...

An original Dreamup version can only send an original ssl to a clone if you choose an original ssl for it to send that was your fault not DreamUPs. You choose the files to send not DreamUP.

There is no new flashup again use DreamUP versions.

ferret,

I did not said that via dreamup I send an incorrect (original) ssl to clone.

I said that the software send a TEMPORARY ssl to the box, so the box can accept a transmission via serial (or IP if network was the choice).

that temporary ssl is sended directly from program, after the box recognition. dreamup send original ssl, flashup send clone ssl.

that's not may choice, it's program choice ...

You beat me mate i give up.

Ive recovered and flashed numerous clones with DreamUP with no issues at all.

Good luck with your problem.

@ferret

I have flashed many dm800, original and clone, for friends, without problems.

but, in this case, seems that I'm not able to do the task ...
