Do I need to put the attached stmvb.ko file in var/bin . I do not have a bin in var so do I creat bin directory.?

You can put it anywhere you want, or create bin folder. As long as the path to it is adjusted in rcS file.

im new to this enigma 2 i have put this version on my ipbox9000hd
just wondering about addons?
is there any available and where do you get them and install them

can you use dreambox addons with this?
i know its a stupid question
how do you update the keys etc..
i had a dreambox years ago and it was so easy to update keys and addons

Hi cybercypher,

If you have dreambox then you should be o.k. with Ipbox. Load image with PKT and you down load cams,config and also keys.
The good addons for IPBOX are PKT.

when i had the dreambox it was really easy to put different images on like gemini, sifteam etc.
but with the ipbox i don't think it quite so user friendly
unless its just me its been that long sice i did owt with the dreambox i think i have forgotten most of it.
i like the ipbox but i think its too complicated at the moment for your beginners like myself.
i have put enigma 1 back on cos i know how to work it.
when all the enigma 2 images are all usb flash and are more reliable i will put it on again.
i know that there are people working hard to improve enigma 2 firmware and for that i thank them.:thum:
just a question though, why can't the software be universal on all linux machines? for example i can install windows onto any pc and it will work as long as it met the min spec.

If you take a ready made E2 back-up with Ghost it's as easy as klick , write , go.

Stop complaining, the Dreamboxes are there for a long time, but IP Boxes are becoming strong.

with "dreamset2.24" it is possible to create a channel list on the pc.
i use skins from "kerni" and settings from dreambox e2 and the ipbox9000 looks like Dreambox.

Actually managed to use the module from Iscan mod in Sif team enigma2 without installing Iscan e2 mod. And SNR does work.
Downside is that picture on 4:3 channels is shown as 4:3 for a second when zapped to then picture scratches to 16:9.

But if someone wants to get SNR back. You can upload this module to for example /var/bin
Then modify
/etc/init.d/rcS

to change this line:
insmod $MODDIR/stmdvb.ko

to
insmod /var/bin/stmdvb.ko

and reboot the box.

If something is wrong or doesn't work properly just revert the change and reboot again.

I've got 2 tuners, but the second one is just looptrough from to the first one. Anyway SNR works fine.

Going to positioner setup crashes enigma. So I assume this module is from older versions of enigma2 when SNR was working fine but positioner setup wasn't.

Well, at least I'll be able to tune usals to best signal then go back to old module.

I noticed very strange bug, when I apply the upper patch for showing SNR. SNR is showing - that is ok.

...but after that patch, I am unable to play my recorded files from HDD?! I am getting green screen after few seconds on all previous and new recorded files.

When I revert upper patch (from "insmod /var/bin/stmdvb.ko" back to "insmod $MODDIR/stmdvb.ko"), files are playable again.

Can somebody confirm that?

I tried on Sifteam, PKT and RSP mods and get exactly same result every time.

i must change the settings but i don´t know what i have to change

the ip address is ok and connectet but i don´t know where is the channellist on the ipbox?

I´m very greatful for help.

when i´m finished with the channel list and i click to upload it
i wait a little bit for a restart of enigma 2 but i don´t have a favorit list on the box?

maybe i make something wrong ?

Go to menu-setup-system-customize and change Enable multiple bouquets to Yes.

I am new to ipbox/enigma2 setups. My first experience is with 0.5.0 and I believe it is quite stable. The biggest problem I have is that in ipbox 9000hd, conexant dvb-s2 tuner, it doesn't support diseqc 1.2 command goto stored position (not usals). I have a v-box ii diseqc 1.2 positioner + actuator for my dish, and enigma2 on ipbox does not send the correct commands to the v-box ii. It would be nice to see this fixed if possible (reported this also to sifteam forum - i hope the developers will see this).

Apart from this, I got some crashes when enabling subtitles on sky uk movie channels (can send crash log if needed).

Use power button to exit teletext.

It is known bug, no way around it atm.
