Version 0.23a

Code:
Hi!

As promised in Jumpin'Jack Flash thread I have now done something clever Dumbo. Now there are 2 settings for initramfs kernel, and (copy) while Flash kernel and label mounting.

Both of these settings appear in Dumbo on blue but only on when the flash an initramfs kernel is found. Copy the flash works as usual, as soon as you which is the kernel from flash enabelt copied to FAT instead of the kernel image. But only if you also enabelt label Mount the autoexec is *. bat to me then root = LABEL = DUMBO written. If one chooses the Bootlogofix is thus now the autoexec *. bat rewritten and copied the kernel and the new boot logo. So you can image a Dumbo and subsequently to label switch mount, or update the initramfs kernel if you turned up on both parameters and makes the Bootlogofix to yellow.

When Bootlogofix where the image has been unpacked but also contains the kernel gechecked if the FAT is really an initramfs, if not it remains with the root = / dev /....

Although this is still not quite as it should be ultimately implemented (will be used, automatically mount that label as soon as possible) but the 0.23A is also more time to test the python initramfs kernel detection. Because that was not easy to extract the initramfs to rebuild python, I had to throw everything out that in the existing shell and pearl scripting is actually unnecessary. But brutal omission of unnecessary stuff to me is not so strange, and it seems to work You may now test it.

Version 0.32d

Code:
Well, I'm on the first page is replaced by a version 0.23d which is promoted wherever umount-f (force), maybe that helps.

And if we do not have to try it again without first initramfs kernel to see if the fault is that :-(

Version 0.24d

Code:
Well, one of my principles, the goal is always to achieve with minimal effort.

So I have a 0.24d on the first page at the back made everything should work as usual (as far as I could test it).

If, however, a SATA (SSD) boot stick to it you only have to have the kernel command line Enable the drive with root = / dev/sdb2 rootfstype = ext3 kernel and initramfs is already in the flash booting from the SATA as the usual USB, and we can in spite of the kernel command line with Dumbo quite normal boot the flash image, because the initramfs kernel itself is so clever in the 1.0 kernel command line when asked to ignore any *. autoexec_dm is found and the flash to boot.

We simply test if it works so easily, and if so, it remains easy for the first time Sun

The above-proposed variant without kernel command line to boot from the SATA is apparent for such a small circle just not worth the hassle because it is so indeed works.

So please test and report whether the 0.24d now works stable again.

the Dumb Boot Plugin 0.25a

Code:

Version 0.25b

Code:
What is new - apart from the fix for the 'serious' error with the minimum image size :-)

We can now turn up on blue swap partition will then take a swapfile in a separate partition image (3rd primary) made with the set amount of swap. (!) And extra for Speedster can now if still space on a remaining partition is turn up (that's the 4th Primary) - for the mounting of the latter, you have to you but take care please himself, possibly you can have a matching label propose this at the moment it is simply formatted as ext3 and unlabeled, and therefore usually to be found in / autofs/sdX4.

Note - all these new partition settings work only when the image size is NOT 0, because 0 (which also is the default) means yes as usual, that the image on the FAT the whole device gets, so no swap partition still remaining partitions are possible.

Please test if this works as it should and now I do not have built too many new bugs, because I would get nice and slow like 0:25 and stable again.

PS: probably the fastest boot partition image about 512MB and 128MB swap partition without rest, but you can now try out myself - so my 8000 will stick to pretty much exactly one minute from the internal SATA boot time, even without qWickie - Fascinating :-)

dumbo_0.25g

Code:
Thus what is new here - I've been using on the experimental toppi's Dumbo the backup / restore and tested by side with the 0.25g of the first it worked well on the 8000. Whether it goes now with the other boxes also have to please your test.

Because I would like the the 0.25 runs stable again, because there are plenty of other sites
