DM800HD wont load boot up and sticks at the same point

Hiya

ive had to reboot my DM800HD tonight and it wont load past halfway stage on boot up.

ive tried leaving it for a while and plugging it in but it freezes at the same stage everytime i re boot it.

is it broke or does it need a re flash because ive not reflashed one before so any advice would be appreciated.

Try removing the tuner and reboot if it loads fully its your tuner.

i Just looked at a guide on here on how to reflash the image and it seems to have worked.

i panicked a bit because im not really fully up on the nuts n bolts of this and thats why im here to try and learn.

i do try to read as much as possible but theres some things i dont understand and i dont like posting because they might seem stupid to the experts :)

my mate is running phoenix image on his but his bootloader is different to mine and ive tried looking for phoenix with my bootloader which is 72 is it possible to get the same image on with my BL72?

ive looked in the download section but cant see one??

ive managed to get the image on ok now but ive not got a ts panel and ive tried putting it on via dcc by putting it in the temp folder but it wont send it over.

any ideas on how i can get it on please mate because ive read i might have to Telnet it over but ive never used that before and dont want to bugger the box up again

Sorry to jump in
Here are the steps for installing IPKG files using DCC

To install TSpanel
Start DCC
Select
Tools - Packages - IPKG - upload folder
select your IPKG file location

Wait for it to load
Restart Enigma
Your plugin is now in Green button menu

Happy new year

ok a new problem...

everytime i try to install anything my box crashes and reboots enigma 2 this happens when ive tried to install EPG updates etc etc

Try another image mate if your still using that old Pheonix image then a lot of the newer plugins will not work on it !

cheers for the reply mate its appreciated.

ive flashed it again with the phoenix image you dug out and it still crashes everytime i try to download the Cross EPG from the server so you im sure your right.

can you recommend an image for my BL72 that will support CrossEPG and the TS Panel please ?

Thing is mate your sim is not really supported now and the latest plugins are developed for the latest image so im not surprised you have trouble with some.

Try other images mate thats all you can do.

Thanks mate

i will download a few and try to see if any work...

would you suggest i upgrade my box ? or isnt it worth the expense for the sake of EPG ?

Im sure youll get a epg working on a image mate why not try a Nemesis image i think that will have a epg installed that just need configuring.

You could though just replace the sim in your 800 to be able to use the latest image, sim2.1 sim cards can be found at a resonable price on Google.

Well i downloaded a Nemesis image and it looks like ive killed my box :(

when it boots now it doesnt even let me see an ip address when i hold the power button to try and put a different image on.

i was certain the image i put on was compatable with my BL but obviously it wasnt because as i said as soon as i boot the box up it says something like Dream multimedia ERROR

is it dead ? what a start to the new year eh hahaha

ok i now know ive not killed my box and ive had help from a mate and im up and running because i used dreamup

it was a mission though because my laptop didnt have a com port so i had to build a very old PC out of various parts that i had knocking about my garage and after 1 hour ive flashed BH 0.12 back on and im up and running as i was before trying to get EPG on.

trust me ive learnt a lot over the past few days and its appreciated the help ive got and i thank you for it(FERRET)

Nice one Ferret

ive managed to get the Nemesis on ok and ive got FTA channels but when i goto the Nemesis panel BLUE and then BLUE again for the Addons Manager it says server not found check internet connection when i try to connect to it to try and download mgcamd

ive done the network tests and they come back ok so im wondering if theres either something im not doing right or theres a problem with the server ?

i really appreciate the help btw and im really learning as im going along here and i dont mind making the odd mistake as long as i know how ive done it and how to get back out of it in the future :)
