Hi there everyone!
i just got the DM800HD pro...i`m very happy i did cuz it`s my first dreambox, have only heard a lot about it. need some help here!!!
the box came with a sticker that reads sim 2.01 inside and upon booting the oled screen read Sim201 team #76A....my question is that when i wanted to upload an image into the box through Firefox.. the box waits at ***stop*** DHCP... and nothing happens even though it`s directly connected to my pc through a crossover cable and set up IP in the box and on the pc...and the web interface works great.. i can stream video and back up settings through DCC.
i have no idea...what`s going on..:mecry:
another question...if it happens that i can`t get through to it the firefox way...what other program is good for sending images to the box....dreamup or flashwizardpro..do i need to connect null modem cable as well (i mean plus the crossover cable)
thank you very much in advance...can`t wait to flash it with the latest unofficial dreamelite
phoenix edition "sim201-SSL76c-de-133dv3PHOENIX-dm800-20092010"
C ya. :thum:

It would be better to flash your 800 via a router not directly from you PC by cross over.

If you can not do this via router then use a null modem cable and DreamUP. Flashwizard wont work on enigma 2.

At the moment use the patched images not original as the latest original images will not let you do that. A new 76d bootloader will be out soon which may allow the use of original images in conjunction with 76d.

thanks so much for getting back to me ferret...i really could use your help...
i don`t any router lying around cuz my internet isn`t set up yet...so i guess i`m stuck here
the question is how do i update the box when it`s only directly-connected to my pc?...
thanks so much for the tip about flashwizard pro...you saved a ton of trouble...i wouldn`t have figured
that out on my own as i`m only beginning to dive into this seemingly daunting world of dreambox
and stuff...could`ve simply ended up f**cking it up.
what`s that null modem cable anyway? is it the same cable i used to flash an old receiver i once
had;FTE MaX S200. and which version of dreamup is good to go with my dm800HD Pro i just got.

You can do that by connecting ur pc and stb with null modem cable using DREAMUP to reflash it.

i tried with dreamup 1.3.3.4...upon plugging the box ...dreamup recognizes it ..showing boxtype:dm800 and then it shows something like ...initiating HTTP....and nothing happens for more 15 min....so i disconnected dreamup and then i unplugged the box from power, i didn`t wanna try anything else until i know what to do....so my question do i have to plug the crossover network cable as well......and one more question about that "NULL MODEM CABLE "...is it the same as the one you`d use to flash any old receiver with, for example, like the one i once had (FTE MAX S200).

Right unplug all connections from the rear of your 800 except the null cable including the power supply.

Start Dreamup and make sure network is unticked.

Press the connect button if it reports box type then your cable is a null cable.

Now put the power supply plug back into the rear of your 800 wait a while till the flash button becomes active and then press flash scroll to your image and select it. Upload should now begin.
