Hi,

I bought new sim 2.01 instead of old sim 1. Now I'm going to put it in receiver and a lot of questions come. Do I need to flash SSL before image flashing or I could flash directly the new image? Seller says that the card is latest and I can use it whith the latest SSL76C bootloader with any image out there.

May I flash 76D or newer bootloader or I can't?
Thanks in advance.:thum:

Just flash the latest sim2 image mate the bootloader is flashed with the image so you should be fine providing the Sim is compatible in the first place.

Sim1 800s were old Ferrari team boxes and the Sim2 Sim did not always work with the internal memory of them. I think this was fixed anyway try it nothing lost.

Ferret, thanks!:thum:

I'll try. When I bought the card I read, that it is compatible with sim 1 boxes. I hope, that everything will be OK.

May I ask you one more thing. I bought new tuner rev.M for my second box. If tuner is hardwarely compatible with box, do I need to reflash it or I could just replace old one and start the box? I have Nemesis 2.1 in flash installed.

You can replace the tuner on your current image and then reboot that is no problem. However do not let your box boot when you swap the sim you must put it directly into flashing mode and flash sim2 image.Saying that the image you point to is a sim2 image already ? Im confused you say you have not swapped sim yet :confused:

No, no ..the tuner is for my second DM800, may be this fact confused you.

Regarding sim change: Do I have to replace the card when box is running in flashing mode :eek: or replace it when box is shut down?

Hi,

Just an short info about sim replacement. I did this with no problem. I'm posting process steps:

1. Shut down the box;
2. Open the box and replace old sim, with new one;
3. Turn ON the box and hold Standby ;
4. Flash new image via browser method;
5. Make an initial setup.
6. Have fun :thum:
