im running darkstar II and i've got this far: - ive basically managed to log on to my dm7020s outside my home network using FIREFOX and my dyndns account *******.gotdns.com into the browser.
i opened up firefox and typed in *******.gotdns.com then the user/password box appears , fill that in , and i got into the nabilosat control panel.
i then clicked on the "vpid" tab nr the top right of the control panel page and saved the video.m3u file to my pc.
i then clicked on this file on my laptop and VLC player opens but no picture.then i noticed the video.m3u file doesnt have the IP of my modem in VLC player adress bar but instead it has the IP of the dm7020s itself , i.e ;- 192.168.0.25.31339 etc... so it cant find it.
at this point i decided to open up the video.m3u in notepad and changed the IP from 192.168.0.25:31339 to the IP of my modem at home99.999.99.99:31339 (example).
i then clicked on it again and VLC player opens and starts trying to stream a picture.i get a picture of sorts but it comes on for 1 or 2 seconds then freezes for 20-30 seconds.
can someone please explain why the vpid saves the files with my dreamoxes IP and not the IP of my modem at home and why does it keep freezing ?.
can you please tell me what i need to do in the settings of VLC player to stop this ?.i've been ripping out me hair over this as i'd like to set it up at me m8's for football every now and then.
i wouldnt mind knowing how to get the "WEB-X-TV" to work outside my home network if possible.
