It depends, what size have you got now? Which sat are you hoping to pick up?

Umm not sure, its the basic size 60-80cm. Don't have access to my roof at the moment. Will check it later to be sure.

Hoping to pick up as much as i can. I live in the persian gulf, not sure if it depends on which part of the world you live in.

your location 100% depends what you can receive. check out lyngsat dot com to see footprint maps of satellites and then work out what you can pick up

also think about wind loading if you are going to put it on the roof it will act like a sail dont want it pulling your roof down

Good point.

I could place it on the ground of the roof, roof has wall boarders about 1.2 meters high. Neighbor has 2 huge dishes installed on ground.

Hi.

The easy way is to ask you Neighbor what he is receiving.

If you like his programs can you may be ask him if you also can connect to his dishes.

If he use LNB with 1 output can you offer him to bay some with 2 outputs?

If he use LNB with 2 output can you offer him to bay some with 4 outputs?

If he use LNB with 4 output can you offer him to bay some with 8 outputs?

And may be he also will like a new SAT receiver, but it will still be cheaper than to install your own dishes.
