Different Cuberevo 9000 versions behave differently !

Hi Guys,

I have got 2 different types of Cuberevo 9000 boxes - most recent purchase has a case fan at the rear of the box and the older version has a fan in front of the HDD.

The two boxes appear to behave differently with the latest DGS firmware revisions. Specifically the newer box works fine with the Sifteam DGS 13219 image and the latest version of Crossepg on 28.2.
The older box with an identical setup configuration, when you run the Crossepg downloader it fails to find the 900+ channels (finds 0 channels) and so doesn't download anything. I have tried theis on two old and two new boxes and they behave the same, so I cannot use the latest DGS revisions for this reason.

I have to use a USB stick with swapfile to get Crossepg with 28.2 to work even on the latest box.

Has anybody had similar experience or can shed some light on the matter ?

My box has a fan on the HDD, I have also struggled with crossepg, but seems to work fine on PKT 0.9.8. I've never managed to get corssepg working on a DGS image. I'm picking another box up on Saturday and will post again with results. Sorry don't know why there are differences, but I would be interested to find out why.

Hi DKAftermath,

Have checked out the crossepg website again and there does not appear to be any crossepg version or patch which refers to different versions of Cuberevo 9000. Perhaps I should raise this as an issue ?

to the right is different versions of crossepg to download. also a link to how to install, and further down the list is more usefull info..

what exactly are you trying to do ( what image you trying to install crossepg to )? I have managed to install crossepg on every image except the PGI images, where it installs but i cant get it to work properly..

With the very latest version of the Cubrevo 9000 box. the latest Sifteam DGS image and latest Crossepg version (via Online 1) I have 100% success and work perfectly on 28.2E. With the older Cuberevo 9000 box, the latest Sifteam DGS image and latest Crossepg version 4.2 (via Sifteam Online 1, crossepg installs ok but when you come to running the downloader, for some reason Crossepg seems unable to detect the 28.2 channel list - so the download cycle is unsuccessful. I I have had the same positive result on 2 of the latest version boxes and failure on 2 of the older version boxes.

I have backed up the image from a 100% working new version box and downloaded it to an old version box without success - same problem exists on downloader.

I hope this clarifies my problem.

So far I have not use the E2 version because of lack of Series Link capabaility. Hence my question about E2.

can you try something for me... add a folder in favourites and add all channels from 28.2e to it. reboot , then try a scan with crossepg.

I have had in the past empty folders so crossepg wouldnt scan anything..

The latest version crossepg-0.4.2-svn-48-dgs-sh4.tar.gz doesn't work at all on my Cuberevo, but the older version crossepg-0.4.1-svn-45-dgs-sh4.tar.gz works fine. You need to go to the downloads page and use the 'ALL' option to find the older version.

works great now on PGI latest

Can you just confirm
Box with fan in front of HDD or in rear of case
Crossepg 0.4.2 or 0.4.1

OK so an old design box, latest PGI image and Crossepg 0.4.1. This could be the answer based on all the feedback I have had in this thread. Thanks to all !

Sifteam DGS 13319 and Croosepg 0.4.2 work fine (with swap file) in new "fan in rear of case" box on 28.2E

Hi @DKaftermath & @thecaretaker,

Thanks for your help on this and some good news.

I loaded up the latest Sifteam DGS image 13322 today and installed crossepg 0.4.2 via Online 1. Download did not work as with the previous but 1 image. The box was my daughter's old version with the fan in front of the HDD.

I then tried the two suggestions I had from the thread. On the old Cuberevo 9000 box with a fan in front of the HDD
I can confirm that adding a favourite folder with all of the 28.2E channels did not work for me, however replacing the latest version of crossepg 0.4.2 with crossepg-0.4.1-svn-45-dgs-sh4.tar.gz did work and I now have a fully functional 7 day epg on the hd package, on the old version box.

So, with the latest Sifteam DGS image, I can get a fully functioning epg on 28.2 by using crossepg 0.4.2 on the latest version box but I have to use crossepg 0.4.1 on the old version box. I hope this helps someone else !
