when i use dcc with root and dreambox and i try to ftp, it says< 500 OOPS: cannot change directory:/root
< 500 OOPS: child died does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks

Some images use passwords other then dreambox

An example is sifteam they use sifteam, dsteam use dsteam

If this is not the case with your image remove DCC for your PC and reinstall

Was this a backup image or have you changed pass at any time?

no backup image my friend put this image with password and cccam2.1.3.no it doesnt work with other ftp program. when i go in tux box commander ect var passwd there is 2 passwd in the one that is yellow the first line is different than the passwd in white the one in white the first line says root::0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh

Im sure that line

root::0:0::/:/bin/sh

Means you have no password set at all if the is the case DCC wont connect as it needs a password.

Telnet into your box with the password blank.

If it lets you then type passwd and then enter a password twice use this pass in dcc and it should connect.

< 530 Please login with USER and PASS. i cannot see files on left hand side

You should see something like this

Telnet Connected
FTP Connected
Model DM500 detected.

Bootmanager: not found

Do you not see anything like that?

It has to be a incorrect password or ports been blocked by the router for some reason.

In tuxbox change your password by doing this

Run tuxbox from Yellow button
Navigate to /var/etc/passwd
Change the line containing root into this

root::0:0::/:/bin/sh

Now use putty tel to telnet into you DM

Type on the IP of your DM
Login=root
pass=leave blank

At prompt type passwd and then enter a new pass twice.

Try the new pass in DCC.

On the config tab do you have 3 green line PC Router Dreambox?

yes but i will lose my cccam 2.1.3 that someone installed on my dm for sharing and i will have to pay to reinstall it again

Well i think all aspects have been covered mate. All i can add is try start at the beginning of this thread and go over all ideas we have given you.
