dcc and ftp problem

Hello
Im trying to install web-x-tv_firefox.tar to tmp on my d500 so that I can manually install it on the d500. Im using dcc 296 and d500 has nabilosat darkstar2. Dcc says it has ftpd the file over to tmp but when I try to manually install on the box it cant find it. Its got freespace in var 26%.
Any ideas please.

I think it may be the extention on the tarball. Nabilo images use nab.gz

I know that plugin mate, i was part of the team when it was developed. It is a Eagle only plugin. I guess you could unrar it and send it over to the corresponding folders manually but you'll need to give them the correct rights and then it may not work.

Worth a try though.

Getting a bit complicated for me and its only to stream to pc as I have had problems with that.

Hi mate

If you want to stream to windows media player on local lan i have a easy method. see attached rar

Window Media Player Streaming

Included in the rar is a file named dreambox.wpl extract this to you desktop.Right click it and open it with wordpad.

Edit this line with your Dreambox IP and password

<media src="bcmsdb://root:[email protected]"/>

Google and find bitcontrol Mpeg-2 codec and install them on you PC and reboot.

Now just double click the dreambox.wpl file and Media player will start streaming what your watching.

Note from memory it did not work with all images but it so long since i messed with a 500 i forgot which ones.

Your welcome mate, its a good little trick. Not all images will work with this method though. Recording can be done on the normal webinterface providing you have setup a ciffs mount to your PC hard drive.
