Crossepg for DGS based images

download the DGS version of crossepg from here

FTP to /tmp folder

open telnet programme

type these commands

tar zxf crossepg-0.3.1-svn-30-dgs-sh4.tar.gz -C /tmp
cd /tmp
./installer.sh

reboot box

then go inmenu/plugins and crossepg.plugin, then choose menu and set up for the way you want EPG .

then menu/plugins crossepg.launcher.plugin ( sometimes this crashes, just reboot and start again )

re boot

then menu/plugins crossepg sync.

all should be fine now, ive got 5 days EPG

1 problem you might have is run out of space in the var/plugins folder so i deleted the bg-mailplg as i dont use the mail plugin.


if you struggle to get it to unpack you can open each file and folder and ftp to the same locations in image, but CHMOD755 all the files.

Hi all

How do I configure CrossEPG to download EPG from the Scandinavian sattellites Sirius and Thor (Viasat and Canal Digital)??

I have the same problem to put epg for digital + from Astra 19.2E

Somebody knows how can i solved it??

Currently Crossepg only seems to work for 28.2E (SLY) and 13E (SLY ITA)

Not for 1W or 19.2E

Incidentally to change Latest DGS images to use Crossepg use the web interface from your computer ie 192.168.1.X
Then System/Plugins/Set plugin to colour key
Change red plugin from favpip.plugin to crossepg.plugin

From then on red button=crossepg

@aftermath I can't get crossepg to work on DGS. Keeps crashing during parsing summaries.

I wonder if I have installed correctly because it refuses to store the epg dat file on my hard drive or usb drive.

The command

tar zxf crossepg.tar.gz -C /tmp

do I run this after having moved both files into /tmp ? If not please clarify. thanks

it will be because it is running out of space, the DGS based images dont have much memory left and crossepg needs quite a bit of space.

Try removing some plugins you dont use, i deleted the mail plugin files to create enough space and it works fine for me

might be a better idea to ftp all the files across then you will see when the memory gets full, therefore delete some other plugin.

make sure you CHMOD all the files 755 when you transfer

Have deleted plugins but no progress.

I have changed the filters to only ask for the movies (in favourites) epg data and it makes no difference.

Is it because I am using the latest Vodka DGS image ? Have you tried this.

it possible to put the DGS no boot image into USB on multiboot to get round the freespace in flash issue to install crossepg ?

if i remember rightly, there was a sifteam DGS based image that you could download crossepg from within the image and it worked fine, it was about 3 or 4 images ago.

I am using NLB 11453 , and am using Cross epg, and i am using the HDD to download the EPG too, i had to delete a file in the VAR/PLUGINS folder as there was not enough space.

Ive spoke about this in other posts on here.

what cams you installing to the image

i only have Incubuscamd and mgcamd. If you try to install more then your gonna have less memory.

TBH crosepg looks and runs a lot better in E2 USB image.
DGS with Crossepg looke basic and a lot slower.

Hi Aftermath

I use Mgcamd only and connect to my Ubuntu server running newcs with an 0963 s!y card. Suppose I can remove Incubus.

I am concerned though that I maybe havent used the right install technique for Crossepg on DGS. I can't understand why it will not save the epgdat file to file to HDD. It will only install it to /usb (which is actually flash (my usb stick is /usb/usb0) or /tmp which again is flash. So as crossepg downloads it just fills up flash. If I set it to HDD it just tells me there is something wrong with my configuration. I think this is the route of the problem I have.

To install crossepg I transfer both files to /tmp using DCC ftp (is this correct)
Then use Telnet
cd /tmp
ls
tar zxf crossepg-0.3.1-svn-30-dgs-sh4.tar.gz -C /tmp
I then have to chmod the installer.sh file to 775 to get it to run (is this correct ?)
./installer.sh

I have used Crossepg successfully on E2 images on USB. Having said that I tried the latest PKT 7.5 E2 yesterday and it wouldn't install - will have another go today. My issue with all E2 images is the ability to use both tuners.

Can you point me at where I can download the NLB 11453 9000 image (I can find NLB 11453 900) because the latest version I can find is 11102 couldnt find it and it is my favourite DGS image.

Finally thanks for your help. I want to get this right and learn all I can along the way from the experts.
