Colors and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have scrapped the three-year entertainment licensing deal, which the Viacom18 Hindi general entertainment channel had signed with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The deal included a payout of Rs 1 billion (to be paid over three years) from Colors for four properties – IPL Rockstars, IPL Awards Night, IPL Nights (On MTV) and a special IPL edition, Fear factor.

The deal was structured by the suspended IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi in March. The new management at BCCI, however, reviewed the deal and refused to provide cricketers for the proposed Fear Factor- Khatron ke Khiladi show. BCCI said that it was not informed of this commitment.

Modi had apparently told Colors that the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh would take part. Colors had signed up Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra to host the show.

Colors then sent a legal notice to BCCI alleging breach of contract. It said that the BCCI had failed to fulfill its contractual obligations.

Also, as the cricketers have not been made available, the show will continue with Priyanka Chopra and 13 hunks. Though, now, the hunks will be from diverse fields.

As planned, the show will be shot in Brazil and at the same time, as planned.
