Ive had my Cas3 for several years with no problems loading cams or cards up until a few days ago it started not detecting my Diablo2 and now any one of my cams I try to use.
I have ohmd out the ribbon cable and it seems to be good.
Is it possible that the dummy card has gone bad or something.
Any advice will help.
Thanks

That was the first place I checked.
After testing end-end on the ribbon cable. I tested every pin from the backside of the dummy card (where the cable plugs in) to the pin lead points inside the Cas, and every pin checks out good.
I dont have the knowledge to go any further in testing within the Cas itself.
All card functions are working fine but its just the cams that are not being detected.
Thanks and any other suggestions will be greatly helpful.

Thanks for your insight paw.
When I try a connect, using either Diablo light or Diablo2 cam, it says "Cam no detected" When I set up to load a file to my T-rex, it says "Cam not inserted".
I will take a look into what you have suggested.

And I take it you tried simple disconnect device, re-install CAS and re-boot of PC?

I find the latest "Cas Interface Studio 9.3.0" the most buggy yet, perform one function works, come to do next thing have to re-boot PC etc.....

empb, thanks for your suggestions.
I happen to have Cas 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 on my pc and did checks with them all and got the same results from all versions.

Diablo Light= "No response from cam" but the yellow lite comes on and the green flashes long and bright when trying to connect.
Diablo2 = Same as with Diablo Light.
Matrix Reloaded = "Cam not inserted" No yellow light and a very weak green pulse when trying to connect.
T-rex = Same as with the Matrix.

A friend tested and metered every possible place on both the cable connection points and on the circuit boards, finding no problems.
The makers of Cas3 have yet to answer my email on any testing suggestions.

cams

the only other thing i can think of is one of the transistors in the cas is faulty easy to test get multimeter set to either continuity which is when u touch probes they buzz or 2k resistance put probe on middle leg and probe on one of outer legs if u get no reading try other way round only reading you should get is about 5.XX to 6.xx do this for both outer legs any other reading and transistor is bad.bye the way in my cas transistors are the silver coloured components

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. I now have a friend who is good with circuit boards, looking into it.
I have feeling that i will have to break down and get a new one.
The makers of the Cas have yet to answer any emails from their support address. I think its bogus!
