BT launches triple-play bundles

March 18, 2010

UK telco BT has finally started offering triple-play bundles of fixed-line voice, broadband and IPTV, after a decision by telecoms regulator Ofcom in September of last year to lift restrictions on the company from offering this type of package.

To celebrate the launch of the new range of offers, BT is offering discounts on the bundles until March 23rd, with John Petter, Managing Director of BT's Consumer divisions commenting: “We wanted to give our customers a great seasonal sale and to promote our all-in calls package. Over the last 12 months, 3.6 million of our customers have moved to calls packages, where you don’t pay for every call. Offering a bundle of broadband and Anytime calls for this knockdown price will launch us into the bundles market as an unrestricted competitor for the first time. There will be many more bundled offers to come and customers can only benefit.”

The top-tier triple-play package offered by the telecoms company, called 'BT Talk, Surf and Watch Unlimited', will give customers unlimited UK anytime calls, broadband speeds of up to 20 Mbps, and access to the BT Vision Gold Value Pack. This top level package will cost GB£ 35.99 (US$ 55) per month for three months and GB£ 48.99 per month thereafter, with the set-top box coming free if the package is taken before March 26th.

UK telco BT had reached 451,000 subscribers for BT Vision by the end of 2009, up slightly from the 436,000 customers it had reported three months previously.
