Any info Y4 Dongle - 2 Dishes 1 On Eutelsat W6

Anyone there have any info on the system using 2 sat dishes - dongle getting signal from dish pointed at Eutelsat W6 and feeding serial port of receiver - other dish used to get signal from say Hotbird or Nilesat feding LNB input of receiver.

I know this system works with some starsat receivers but thats about it.

Anyone info appreciated.

Hi LilleMama - Re this system - I know the physical components required - I already have them.

Connecting them together is not the problem it is what software is required for the Starsat receiver.

Summary:
Sat dish fixed on Eutelsat W6 - lnb feeds in to Y4 Dongle.
Output of dongle to RS232 input of starsat receiver.
Other Dish (moveable) - lnb feed to LNB input of Starsat receiver.

This is all physical components connected correctly.

Model of Starsat should not be a problem as I have access to lots of models that I could use to check system.

I have a 6300 Super (with Abracadabra card), a 3500 CU CI and a 4200D plus acces to other models also.

From what I can gather the 3500CUCI should be ok but I do not know software to use. This system will/should work with ART/Showtime/Nova etc.

Any help is appreciated.

firt you must know that Y4 dongle is a device or a smallbox to add and connect with any STB having software support for this box

y4 get data share from W6 or intelsat 1°W 10.02 and connect with STB witch have soft suuport like starsat ultra and super 550 TO 3500,1200,1400 and clone, metabox, hivion, strong and more...

and the twintuner are diffrent and there is old ones and the new

old like WB8, hitch Z1 and 9500, HBS VISIONSAT and more need a dongle to work, know working with Y2 with expire soon and will edit Y5 this or next month

new are like dreamcinema spacesat dremer hitech X1.... no need to any dongle now, maybe after promotion six or one year

dsbfidda check PM soft waiting for you but for moresat product we ask the team for and still waiting for soft suuport for the dongle Y4

after set factory default and do a new scan

any thing else :thum: or check in satiran the offical support forum

iceblue like Y2 is still working with now but will stop soon, this or next month and you will need the new Y5, and for tunner A soft no support from them team so no news :mecry:

I could not get file from link you sent me - not sure why but would not work.

I searched for file and got one from "sat98.ws" - having dificulty viewing some of the relevant forums including satiran (is it irf4u ??) due to persian/arabic not showing correctly.

File is dated 26.6.08 - is this correct?

Interesting re comments on Y2 & Y5 - I stated I had Y4 but your comments have me wondering - how can I tell what 'Y' version I have.

Also if it is a Y4 - is there a date when it would stop working? One I have looks like one shown at

Back to the Software - assumimng I have the correct 'bin' software for the 3500 - how do I load it - is it Windows Hyper Terminal'?

Also interesting your comment on working with Intelsat 1.0w - does it matter which you use between intelsat and Eutelsat?

Is there any site you know with relevant info in english - this is not a criticism of any web forum site but only of myself who cannot read Persian/arabic.

for offical site satiran we have an english section but think you must change your display profile options language to persian to have correct font

Y4 will till september 2009

For Y4 soft use hyperterminal to update last version for W6&intel is 1.3.1 and both of sat same share only for beam converage for difrent coutries and more db

As I wrote up, I have An Y 4 dongle and one receiver Smart Allawi 1based upon the Eutelsat 6, but they change sw and do not work. The sw I try to use it is not god.Can you send me PM with the entire procedure to upgrade the receiver?:thum:

New SW for all is out now for W6 change change freq... to to fix freeze probleme with better reception

adolf hauer if you damage your Y4 try to dump file for it and use hyperterminal in windows as loader
