2 lnb`s with dm800 and vbox 2

hi all

i have a tree that is now grown thats is starting to mess up 28.2e with my 1.2m motorised, i got a sly mini dish which i connected up to check it wasnt anything else and everything works fine with this dish in a different location.
i cannot move my 1.2m really as it covers upto 30w without probs.
i want to know the best way to use the mini dish and the 1.2m with a vbox2 (vbox needed).
so i need to connect 2 lnb`s into vbox2 and use a dreambox 800.
any ideas on what i need pls

Hi mate

I run a vbox but ive never attempted this but it should work.

As your setup in advanced mode anyway this will be fairly easy to setup.

Using a Diseqc switch connect the vbox to LNB1 on the switch and the 28e dish to LNB 2.

Under advanced setting 28e set

LNB to LNB2
Diseqc to 1.0

Then depending on your switch you'll need to set committed to your switch spec.

As i say it may take some playing with the variables but should work.

A fail safe way is a manual A/B switch.

Please be aware the 800 is picky with switches by a good brand.

Maybe a member can suggest the working brand of switch they use, it is a long time since i used one on my 800 but it was a global brand.

brought a 2 lnb switch but ended up with a 4 lnb switch and it works fine with the settings you said.
have got all channels back now.

btw i thought i would also add.. if i put the switch after the vbox i still had a few problems with certain channels on 28.2e,mainly clubland etc..(which i allways had). this was a pain because if it worked after the vbox properly then i didnt have to run another cable into the house. i tested setting up before the vbox and it works perfectly. i guess the vbox has a fault with it.(earthing fault i think,because if i touch it or stand near it the channels seem to clear). weird i guess but works 100% now
