How you mean a enclosure, just to protect the original casing from the weather and elements ??.
And any idea of what to material to make the enclosure from??.
Not seen it yet as it's in my nephew's van,he will drop it to me over the weekend.Bargain of the century, is it an EL version ?
The 1.85 mabo is not exposed to the north or east, open to the west and kinda a bit secluded from the east,I say kinda excluded with a shed in front of it facing south. Not just to protect it from the weather.
Something that will retain and support the entire original casing.
You could probably cobble one up from angle iron, two horizontal struts across the top, two horizontal struts across the bottom and join them with some vertical side pices.
Get a lug welded on to one of the underside pieces, fix a chain through it fastened to the stand or pole to prevent the dish dropping and getting damaged if the original casing shears.
There is a very good topic on another forum posted by a true master of fabrication asociated with satellite hobby stuff. The master did a reet beefed up enclosure for a 1224 that wrapped around the original casing, the topic should still be on there?
Unless that mabo 1.8m you got is gonna be in a very exposed location for wind, I dont see it shearing the original casing on a 1224. An enclosure would be just for peace of mind.
No point over thinking it, just rustle up summat simple and quick, job done.
What's big thick green aka money got to do with the topic.................

plus the dish is ground mounted about 5ft off the ground.
la versione EL è uguale alla classica, si differenzia solo per l'attacco inferiore del pistone che ne modifica l'elevazioneL'affare del secolo, è una versione EL?
fence panels seem very do able, but the caravan does not even though i love thick greenThat would be about the normal height for a ground mounted 1.8m dish, nothing there to cause concern in my personal opinion.
Another option would be to install a wind break in the exposed direction, provided it does not impact your line of sight?
Something like one or two decent strength fence panels firmly secured to posts concreted into the ground.
Or, buy a caravan, tow it into place to act as a wind break. You could rent it out as a holiday let and earn some thick green
I found the kti new a few years ago from a private individual who had 2The SMO-36 H-H motor is the bigger version of the 1224, capable of taking larger dishes easily.
Not easy to find second user models but very good motors for H-H.
Also, another option for H-H is the AJAK H180 chain drive motor, capable of taking a 3.0m dish and probably larger.
Again, not easy to find but there are some around.
