I used to be able to get a signal from this Transponder but it seems to have become much weaker in the last few weeks.

Is anyone in the UK or Ireland getting a watchable signal from this TP ?

I'm in the south of England with a 1.1 metre dish

Thanks

This frequency changed to DVB-S2 at Badr 8 and now is much weaker than when it was in DVB-S.
From Madrid I was able to receive this frequency before, and now with a 80cm I have no signal on this transponder.

The switch from DVB-S to DVB-S2 can sometimes lead to weaker signals due to the different modulation and encoding techniques used in DVB-S2. DVB-S2 typically requires a more precise alignment and stronger signal quality to decode properly, which could explain why you are now unable to receive the signal with your 80cm dish. It might be helpful to check the dish alignment, as even slight shifts can affect reception with DVB-S2. Additionally, you could try using a larger dish or a more sensitive receiver to improve signal strength.

The switch to DVB-S2 does indeed demand higher signal quality due to its advanced modulation and encoding techniques. If you're experiencing weaker signals, double-checking your dish alignment is a good first step since DVB-S2 is less forgiving of misalignments. Upgrading to a larger dish can also make a significant difference, as it will capture more of the signal and provide better reception. Alternatively, investing in a more sensitive receiver could help optimize signal decoding without needing major hardware changes.

Thanks for your tips. Probably it will be something like that. On Christmas holidays I will check the dish alignment, as it is located on the roof with a no easy access. And I will report the results…
