WWE Contacts Mike Adamle To Guest Host Future RAW

Joshua LeBlanc sent along the following:

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Mike Adamle is apparently been contacted for a role as Raw guest host. He's been on the local news here in Chicago covering sports and a couple days ago he announced that WWE has called him with the offer. Adamle only revealed that tidbit and didn't get into details or whether or not he'd accepted.

Who Topped The PWI 500 List?, Pretty Ricky Character Update

Pro Wrestling Insider has once again released its top 500 pro wrestlers list, and this year, making it the second time he has appeared on the list in 9 years, WWE's Triple H is the number one rated pro wrestler according to PWI. Rounding out the top ten behind Triple H this year is Chris Jericho, John Cena, Edge, Randy Orton, Nigel McGuinness, Hiroshi Tanahashi, CM Punk, Sting and Ultimo Guerrero.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that despite vignettes for Ron Killings' "Pretty Ricky" character not appearing on TV in several weeks, the character has not been completely scrapped by the WWE creative team. The main issue at this point is that aside from Vince McMahon's personal love of the "Pretty Ricky" gimmick, there aren't many others in management that are behind Killings mainly due to his age. They feel that at the age of 37, and with WWE going through somewhat of a "youth movement," it's not a wise decision to invest too much into a Killings push.

ECW Rating, Funny Chant Edited Off ECW Last Night

Jonathan C. sent along the following:

I attended the Smackdown taping at the Nassau Coliseum. One thing that I noticed was immediately edited from ECW was an extremely LOUD "This is Stupid" chant during the Abe Washington Show. It was not a smattering either, it was very loud and even stopped Ryder during his 'promo.'

--Speaking of last night's ECW show, the final cable rating came in at a 1.25.

Mr. Kennedy's Latest Video is Now Online: "Eat For Success"

The Heyman Hustle has posted a brand new Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson video over at CraveOnline. In the new video, titled "Eat For Success," Mr. Kennedy shares some "tips" on how to eat right prior to hitting the gym for a workout. This is a really funny piece, in my opinion, and is one of Kennedy's best videos yet.

ECW Star's Bio Removed, Update on BlackJack Mulligan

Tony Atlas' profile has been removed from the roster section of the ECW webpage. This should confirm reports that we published several months ago claiming that WWE was not re-signing the Hall of Famer.

PWInsider.com is reporting that following his second stroke, BlackJack Mulligan is having difficulty with his vision and is apparently slurring his speech.

Lesnar Gets Pissed At Steroid Talk On ESPN, Trashes WWE

The following is an excerpt from Tom Kettwig's recap of Brock Lesnar's profile piece on ESPN's E:60 yesterday:

They showed a picture of Vince McMahon from a Wrestlemania 23 press conference while talking about how WWE invited him to join its stable of showmen.

Brock said he never watched "a lick of wrestling". He said that's not wrestling, it's not real. They showed clips of him vs. Matt Hardy, talking about how WWE slapped a lot of money on the table, a quarter of a million dollars. They showed clips of him vs. Brian Kendrick and Rey Mysterio and talk about how he was crowned the youngest WWE champion at the age of 25. The money kept flowing into the millions, but it came at a steep price.

The reporter asks what type of injuries he had and Brock said that he tore both of knees up, got severe back pain, ribs, neck issues. He wrestled with his MCL blown out and three broken ribs and he wrestled that way for six months because he just became the champion.

He said that you are gone 300 days a year, you are miserable climbing the walls in the locker room waiting to come through the curtain in a different town every night that looks exactly the same from the night before.

He said there are two years from his life that he doesn't remember. The reporter asked him why he doesn't remember and Brock answered vodka and pain pills. He said he was in a lot of pain mentally and physically. The reporter asked him if was addicted and Brock asked the reporter what is addiction? Taking too many pills and drinking too much, yes. Did he become aware he was talking too many pills and drinking? Yes he did.

They showed a clip of Brock giving Big Show a suplex while Bret Hart talked about how there is a lot of pain in wrestling, that he knows countless wrestlers who are dead today from having addictions to pain killers.

Brock said he didn't want to be in the locker room looking like these guys, doing the same thing. Being an entertainer wasn't fulfilling his need.

In 2004 Lesnar walked away from the WWE and a reported seven year, forty five million dollar contract, to tryout with the Minnesota Vikings. They showed clips of Brock playing on special teams, walking and talking about playing for the minimum salary of 230 grand.

Showing clips of him at training camp they talked about his skills as a defensive lineman being too raw and he kept getting into fights. He said it was a way for him to get out of something where he didn't know what he was doing. He was one of the last players cut.

He fell into a deep funk and they talked about his sword tatoo on his chest and feeling like someone was cutting his throat.

They showed clips of Lesnar entering the octagon while talking about him setting his sights on MMA and lobbied the president of UFC Dana White to give him a chance.

At first White doubted that any WWE superstar could do well in a sport where the outcome isn't scripted. Dana White said those guys are athletic and are in great shape. He doesn't call it competition. Coming over to Mixed Martial Arts
is a big jump.

They showed a clip of Lesar working out while talking about his physique questioning if there is steroid use. The reporter talked about how that he is so big and then Lesnar laughed and walked away.

Details Behind The Brian Kendrick's Release From World Wrestling Entertainment

As noted earlier, WWE parted ways with The Brian Kendrick last Thursday. It would appear that the decision was actually made two weeks ago because he was pulled from a previously from a scheduled program with Evan Bourne that week. He was then booked to lose to Jerry Lawler and Kofi Kingston in humiliating fashion.

To confirm ongoing Internet rumors ****** back to last fall, Kendrick's push went up in smoke, so to speak, as a result of his disobedience towards the company's policy on marijuana. He had been warned several times by company officials that they weren't going to tolerate his failing drug tests for marijuana (which constitute a $1,000 fine, but not a suspension) after failing numerous tests. He was one of at least two wrestlers whose pushes were stopped because of their disobedience, and it was likely a major contributing factor in his departure from the company.

Kendrick's release from WWE was also said to be taken as a warning to higher profile wrestlers who have been failing tests for marijuana, as company officials have said many times to a slate of wrestlers individually that they are no longer going to tolerate it.

It should be noted that when Kendrick was informed by John Laurinaitis that he was being let go, he was told it was due to the economy. Those who heard it couldn't believe he gave him such an obviously bogus reason. It's also been said that Kendrick would have been released months ago, but Pat Patterson spoke up on his behalf.

Harcore Holly Blasts Mr. Kennedy, Shoots On WWE, More

Former WWE star Bob “Hardcore” Holly was recently intervewed by InsidePulse.com. Here are some highlights:

On the future of WWE: "Yeah, there’s nobody there who has the dedication, the focus, the ability to tell a story – at least not at the level that they need to move into the upper level. Even if they did, they’d still have to deal with the current group of guys at the top anyway and I don’t see them moving for a while. John Morrison, for example, he’s good but it’s too early. He’s stuck at a level and he’s good where he is but he needs to focus and learn from the older guys to really click at the top level.”

On Ken Anderson, formerly known as Mr. Kennedy: “That mother----er… he’s a dead man walking. I told VPW (indy promotion) that if they get him on their show, I’ll not only work for free but I’ll fly myself in too. If I ever see him again, I’m going to jail, that’s all there is to it.”

Why WWE didn’t do anything with him: “I have no idea. It’s something that Jericho would say to me often, he’d say he didn’t have a clue why they couldn’t use me more. I’ve been in the business for twenty years, I know how to tell a story, I’m safe to work with and the boys respect me but I guess they just don’t want to put over some people. Hell, even ‘Taker went to Vince to ask about doing an extended program with me but Vince shot the idea down.”
