VU+ Player for Android

I have noticed this thread with 2 VU+ Players:

One is VU+ Player 2.2 and the other is VU+ PlayerHD.
Is there any advantage of using one over the other?
I believe VU+ layer also plays HD channels although "HD" is not part of its name.
Or is VU+ PlayerHD perhaps a more modern version of VU+ Player?

One more thing.
When I downloaded VU+ PlayerHD I saw the following:
com.vuplus.android-66b3432f37ddcf2a7f2407c4fd730451.apk (which is the installer), but there are also:

data/com.vuplus.android/databases/vuplus_hosts.db-journal

data/com.vuplus.android/files/gaClientIdData

data/com.vuplus.android/shared_prefs/com.vuplus.android_preferences.xml

What do I do with them?
Do they automatically get installed with *.apk or do I have to copy them manually to certain locations on my Android smartphone?
