Vu+duo2 vs Dreambox 7020HD

I have the dreambox 7020HD, all ok, but the vu+duo2 is out and i do not know if is better than the 7020HD or if how i have the 7020HD you recommend exchange for a vu+duo2

Spec of the Duo2 is far far better mate.

If you can get a good price for your 7020HD then the Duo2 would certainly represent a very good upgrade. hbbTV functions will be far quicker with the Vu+ due to the faster processor. The transcoding feature is useful if you have an Ipad/Iphone for viewing.

The Duo2 can also be configured with Quad satellite tuners which makes it directly comparable to the Dreambox flagship DM8000.

Truth is mate no one knows only a couple have the box no ones sure what its capable of yet too early to say.

Mines here next week with any look and ill be testing stuff for weeks.

MKV is fine, I will try and test subtitles over the weekend.

Can you test out WMV files on the Duo2?
The 7020HD with an OE2.0 based image playbacks unprotected WMV and WMA files without any problems.

Also can you comment about the remote control on the Duo2. I have read people complaining that the remote control is not as responsive as the original Duo.

As for the remote I find the small remotes hard to use so I am using the universal one from my Uno and it is flawless.

I will find the other files you asked about and test when I can.

Hello,

I think to buy an vu+ duo2 but not sure if is the right one, do know any of you if I can play mkv files with DTS sound?
If possible, it have an hardware decoder for that or it use CPU/software to decode the DTS?
With my DM800HD pvr clone I have network issues, mean the speed of transfering files between my computer and the DM is very slow, do you know if vu+ duo2 is faster through network?

The HIGH price of these two box is not justified when you see that you can buy the same hardware box for 330euro and they are not clone and made in korea also

shame to vuplus they begin with good box at little price and now they go to take same way that DMM (high price and closed source prismcube)

Thanks, well it seems interesting, I will need to study deeply.
However, none of them does not tell if the DTS sound is supported by hardware, I know that is possible by software but will decrease the overall performance of the "machine"

anybody know if the external eSATA and internal SATA are on the same port?
I want to know if i can install an internal HDD but also use eSATA for an DVD or secondary HDD at the same time.

i dont have device esata for test but my Marvel works fine with HDD internal 1TB + HDD usb 1.5TB + usbstick + USB tuner sundtek

I now regret that I took changed my dream800se with this duo2.
Do not read ogg audio and some AAC. Buth with dm800se i haven't problems with playing on mp4 with ogg audio sound.
Two months writing in vu support and no any result.
