VOD takes off in Poland

On demand is growing rapidly in Poland, with vod.onet.pl, which is operated by the national commercial broadcaster TVN, now the most popular service.
According to data produced by Megapanel PBI/Gemius and published by Wirtualne Media, vod.onet.pl had 2,057,472 real users as of this June, or just over 400,000 more than a year earlier.
Second placed ipla (Polsat), on the other hand, had 1,506,551 real users, around 800,000 down on a year earlier.
Vod.onet.pl had 25,959,743 views, in Poland, with the average usage time being 28 minutes and 30 seconds.
Its mobile views stood at 49,382 and its reach among internet users was 10.95%.
The next most popular VOD services after the top two were iplex.pl. kinoplex.gazeta.pl and tvscreen.pl.
However, the market is also served by several unofficial VOD services, the most popular of which – ekino.tv reached 9.84% of internet users and was used by 1,847,985 in July.
