Vivendi appoints Erneux VP press relations

Vivendi has announced the appointment of Jean-Louis Erneux as VP, press relations and new media, reporting to Simon Gillham, senior executive VP, communications and sustainable development.

Erneux has a long track record in the media and pay-TV business. Named press & PR manager for NetHold in 1992, he joined Canal+ Group in 1997 where he was appointed director of international communications.

Erneux has been director of communications for the technological services group Cegelec since 2004.

Prior to being in press relations, Erneux was a journalist for the Belgian French language newspaper La Libre Belgique as newsdesk editor. At the time, he also reported media developments as Belgian correspondent for several international trade magazines including Variety and Cable & Satellite Europe.

Vivendi’s media interest include video games (Activision Blizzard), music (Universal Music Group), telecoms (SFR, Maroc Telecom Group and Brasil’s GVT) and pay-TV (Canal+ Group). In 2010, Vivendi achieved revenues of €28.9 billion and adjusted net income of €2.7 billion. The group has over 51,300 employees.
