Anyone has experience using this with a 9000HD
(in my case for a skycard). Does it need both USB
and RS232 connected or will USB suffice by itself.

on a dreambox you have to use both, the usb is for the power.

1-RS232 to USB converter
2- powered usb-hub

Can I just connect an RS232 from the Phoenix to the IPBOX, together with the USB connection for the power to the Phoenix?
Two connectors is a pain, but would this do what is requirred?

no you can't use rs232,this port is used only for serial debugging on ipbox.
