Any new news on the release date of the HD 8000S yet? I have not seen it in stock for sale yet. Also can we expect a Nanoxx knock off of the unit in the near future?

I see it is possible to order it from german webshops already. It says expected in stock within 3 - 6 days.

I think it is a immmature stb to pay so much for it. I have 7100 and probably I would buy a dreambox if I could back mine.

At the end of the day the most important thing is to be able as many channels as are opened or shared.

It is a bit on the pricey side. But if the firmware is solid, for the dual sat S2 tuners and if it actually blindscans S2 I think I'll eventually make the plunge. Being from the US though I think I'll wait for some reviews and feedback first so I don't end up sending it back for repairs like my 7100. At the price though it will probably be a while for the reviews to develop.

I was hoping for a comparable unit from Nanoxx thinking it might bring the price down but they responded to my inquiry today about a dual tuner S2 blind scan unit and said they had no plans to release one.

I was wandering if anyone here has had the opportunity to test the 8000 hardware blindscan feature to see if actually will locate true DVB-S2 8psk? I have seen numerous reports that it does and some responses that it scans and locates HD channels but no solid confirmation from an experienced user if the HD feeds found were standard DVB or if they were DVB-S2 HD. Has anyone tried scanning a satellite with a known DVB-S2 carrier from a blank transponder list to see if the Vantage will capture an S-2 signal?
Also is NTSC an option in the menu?
I am just trying to figure out what the unit will actually do from a user rather than what the manufacturer claims it will do before I order one shipped to the US.

It's the same firmware both in 7100 and 8000 and you have an option to choose between NTSC and PAL.
