using crossover cable to flash?

Can I use a direct crossover cable to flash the HD models like i can do with the old DM7000?

I set static ip on dreambox ex: 192.168.0.24 then connect to PC 192.168.0.23 I hold down power button then turn the box on. I print in 192.168.0.24 in webbrowser but nothing happens...
?

Hi Gerry55

I tride USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port then it worked fine.

I think i have to use hyper terminal to set a static IP othervice box lose the ip when it is set into flash mode.
