use dm800 as server without sat feed

hi every i have a dm800 that gives tuner failed, so cant get it working, so was going to use it as a server, will it work as good as a dm800 that as a sat feed and will it au card ok

Yes it will work as a server, and you can setup CCcam to take updates from your clients so essential they update your card for you.

In all honesty though you can buy a replacment tuner for around £40

hi thanks for replys, its not the tuner, i have tryed 1 out of working box, i got 3 of the new dm800 and all 3 have dnt work, they only find 385, movies or sports, i have tryed everything, even network scans, still nothing, im running oscam and cccam in one of my dm800s at min, so will set up 1 of the broken boxes up as server, im not sure if my card is updating atm, cuz some of my entitlements run out on 15th oct and 20th oct, i hope i havin missed them, my card alway updated a month or more before they run out but not this time, it says in oscam AU on, one of my f line are like this F: user pas8111 1 0 1 { 0:0:1 } and other F: user2 pas1234 and nothing after it, this always au my card in cccam but from i changed to oscam, it doesnt look like its updating

have you updated your satellite xml file before you did a scan.

or have you tried a set of pet settings to see if it works on the missing channels

no i didnt update the xml, how would i do that, take 1 from a working dm800, and wats pet settings, i did all diff scans signal transporter scasn

go here http://satellites-xml.eu/ and tick evey satellite you want to view,then scroll down to the bottom and enter the code and downloat it,then FTP it to the etc folder and overwrite your own,after that reboot your receiver then scan a satellite and see if it finds more channels.

a set of pet settings is an upto date channel list which you can download edit what sats you want to view from them then ftp them to the receiver with dreambox edit or any other prog there are a few out there.

hi no at didnt work either, i selected Astra 1N/2A/2B/2D/Eutelsat 28A (28.2E)" hit dwnload ftp to etc overwrite and reboot, did scan, it finds 485 services at around 50% then from 50 to 100% it finds nothing, and i have sat bouqeet list that i wud send to box with dreambox edit, but have tryed with and with out, looks like the boxes are faulty, all at money dwn the drain.

this was happening on my setup with a VU+Uno i was only getting half the channels,but these boxes have a blind scan and that sorted it out.

are you on a fixed dish,if so try changing the LNB they are chep enough.

i will try in my mums, i have 4 other boxes 2 dm800 all workin np with the lnb thats on, but will try anyway to be sure, but i did flash it with a backup from my other dm800 and try in diff huz and came up tuner failed wen i went to movies or sports or hd, but will try just in case, but if all my other boxes work i dnt fink its at
