Is it possible to get a a Hauppage WinTV Nova T(HD) USB Tuner working on a DM 500hd.

Yes, install the DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4 image and it will work directly without any further installation or setup.

DM500HD does not have a USB port.
You need to do a USB mod on your DM500HD,
the MiniUSB is only for service/image updating.
