Updating to latest image

I have an old NLB image (about a year old) on my 9000HD which I installed some time ago & would like to try the latest NLB image & catch up with the latest developments.
Can I just flash the image on to the receiver or will I need to install an official image first?

I'm a little confused as to what image I need to initally flash to my receiver All the images seem to imply that they are for a usb stick
What images from the current ones can I flash from my laptop.

After trying more then 10 images i have settled for SWF-Vizyon-8x0/0-E2_V2.0_flash.

Steps i do to install:

1. Connect my laptop to IPBOX 9000 with printer USB cable,
2. Power the receiver while holding the start button then press UP till USB Upgrade shows in receiver.
3.Unzip the image somewhere then with Flash Tools 1.0.2 click USB, click File and browse to your image then click down.
4. Wait 10-15 min till it finishes and says Done on the receiver.
5. Press power button and reboot on receiver.

Then after initial boot, i download the Catseye satellite settings and upload them toreceiver.
