Unitymedia to drop Kabel BW brand in April

German cable operator Unitymedia Kabel BW will solely use the brand name Unitymedia across its whole footprint from April 2015.
The Kabel BW band which has been used in federal state Baden-Württemberg will be dropped at the same time. The company will then call itself Unitymedia in the three federal states it covers: North-Rhine Westphalia, Hessen and Baden-Württemberg.
The Unitymedia Kabel BW brand was created following the takeover of Kabel BW by Unitymedia in 2012.
Since July 1, 2012 the company created by the merger has been using the Unitymedia Kabel BW brand while the products continued to be marketed using the established brands Unitymedia in North-Rhine Westphalia and Hessen and Kabel BW in Baden-Württemberg.
There won’t be any changes for the customers: The existing contracts will not be affected by the name change the Liberty Global subsidiary announced in November 2014.
