TVP eyes more channels

The Polish public broadcaster TVP plans to add two more channels to its portfolio this year.
According to Wirtualne Media, it has prepared applications satellite licences for the channels – entertainment-based TVP Rozrywka and documentary TVP Dokument – that it will submit to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) after they have been approved next month by TVP’s board.
The two channels will have slots on Poland’s third DTT multiplex and also be distributed by cable and DTH.
Aside from its three main services (TVP1, TVP2 and TVP Info), TVP also operates the international TVP Polonia and thematic channels TVP Kultura, TVP Historia, TVP Seriale and TVP Sport.
Also in the pipeline are TVP dla Dzieci (a kids channel) and TVP Natura.
