TVN sale options emerge

France Telecom has ruled out buying the Polish national commercial broadcaster TVN.
However, in a wide-ranging interview with Rzeczpospolita, Stephane Richard, the telco’s president said that should it be invited to participate in an offer for TVN by a company such as Vivendi it would consider doing so.
Richard added that at a telecom company France Telecom is interested in having strong ties with media groups.
Speculation as to who may buy TVN and some if not all of its assets is meanwhile continuing to grow in the Polish press.
Maciej Witucki, the president of France Telecom-backed TPSA, is quoted as saying that it would consider buying the DTH platform n.
The Russian company CTC Media, which is backed by MTG, has also now been quoted as a potential buyer of TVN.
