Kabel Deutschland has announced significant increases in premium TV, phone and broadband subscribers during the last three months of 2011.

The growth helped deliver a quarterly net profit of €55 million compared to a €36.5 million loss for the same period in 2010.

Premium TV subs have been on the increase since the summer, with the trend continuing into the third [financial] quarter when the cablenet saw an increase of 9.5% or 133,800 new subscriptions.

The new HD Private bouquet, launched on October 5 and featuring 26 channels from the leading commercial broadcasters, quickly added 270,600 subscriptions.

KDG’s direct subscriber base was up 9,600 quarter on quarter at 7,500,900 thousand as of December 31, 2011. However, total unique subscribers decreased by 38,900 to 8,651,400 quarter on quarter, predominantly resulting from disconnects by Level 4 operator Tele Columbus.

In total, the Company reported 13.3 million RGUs on December 31, 2011, up 5.7%.
