TV Azteca channel starts HD broadcasting through DTT


Proyecto 40, channel that belongs to Televisión Azteca Group, started HD digital broadcastings through DTT in the Metropolitan Area of Valle de México, Guadalajara, Monterrey and other cities of the country. Since November 29, Proyecto 40 has reached 9 million households with digital TV at no additional cost.

Proyecto 40 programming includes cultural, critic, entertainment, debate and interview segments as well as literature and history, opinion and news shows, movies and documentaries. The channel will be available in the Metropolitana rea of Valle de México, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Toluca, Tijuana, Puebla, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Celaya, Torreón, Mexicali, Reynosa, Matamoros, Pachuca, Cuernavaca, Xalapa, Ciudad Juárez, Veracruz and Mérida, among other cities.

“This initiative enables TV Azteca to provide the Mexican consumer with TV autonomy at no additional cost”, stated the firm through a press release. “Free-to-air TV is free for the final users, and it must keep on being this way, but today, we offer it with digital quality and in high definition”, the firm concluded.

TV Azteca is one of the main Hispanic TV content producers worldwide. The firm operates two free-to-air TV channels with national coverage in Mexico through more than 300 broadcasting stations. Azteca 13 is targeted to the family and covers the 97% of Mexican households with TV sets. Azteca 7 is focused on medium-to-high income youngsters and covers the 95% of national households.
