10.13 Europe/London, July 5, 2011 By Robert Briel

Turner Broadcasting System has announced it just opened its own local Oslo office. Channels from the broadcaster reaches out to the majority of the Nordic homes through distribution agreements with Canal Digital, Viasat, Altibox and others.

Recently, Turner Broadcasting System acquired 100% of the Scandinavian television company Millennium Media Group (MMG) and has established itself with its head office in Sweden.

For the Oslo office, “we have hired Stine Moe Engelsrud as distribution manager. She just came from the position as Nordic distribution manager at Fox International Channels and has previously worked many years as Turner Broadcasting Systems’ representative in Norway. Before that she worked at Norway’s’ biggest telecom player, Telenor. To get Stine Moe Engelsrud, with her long experience in the industry, has been of great importance for us,” said CEO C.G. Andersson, in a statement.

Turner Broadcasting delivers in the Nordic and Baltic countries CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TCM (Turner Classic Movies), TNT7, Showtime (NonStop Television handles Showtime in Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Africa, under license from Showtime Networks Inc.), Star! , Silver, Silver HD and Adult Swim.
