Tottenham are making a £9 million move for Lille wing-back Michel Bastos.
The Daily Mail says Bastos, 25, is being tipped to win the French League's Player of the Year award after producing the best form of his career this season.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is set to strengthen his squad during the summer and is keen to add another left-sided midfielder to his squad.
Bastos, who is said to have the hardest left-foot shot in the French League, has also been linked with moves to Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich, but Tottenham look the favourites to clinch his signature.
Bastos said: "I am relaxed about all the talks. I have been playing well, so there will always be clubs interested if you do well.
"But the thought of moving now is not in my head. I would love to continue here if we qualify for the UEFA Champions League. But you never know at the end of the season."
