TMS adds metadata to Com Hem
December 18, 2012 10.01 Europe/London By Julian Clover

TMS is to supply entertainment metadata to the Swedish cablenet Com Hem. The announcement comes ahead of the launch of the operator’s TiVo-based services during 2013.

The TMS On Entertainment metadata will power next generation TV guides that will be consistent across TVs, tablets, smartphones and computes; a standardised user interface has been designed to maximise subscriber satisfaction and encourage increased video consumption.

The On Entertainment metadata package includes linear TV schedules, VOD services, TV showcards, celebrity profiles and an image gallery.

“The advanced entertainment guides Com Hem will make available to their subscribers across multiple devices require high quality data offerings and expertise,” said John Kelleher, TMS’ President and Chief Operating Officer. “TMS is in a unique position to help Com Hem bring these guides to life for the benefit of their subscribers and we look forward to contributing to the success of this initiative”.

While TMS currently provides entertainment metadata to customers around the globe, this marks the company’s entry into the Swedish market. Over 40 customers include Microsoft, Google, TiVo, Comcast, IMDb, Virgin Media, DirecTV Latin America, SKY Brasil and Cablevision Mexico.
