Technomate choice

Hello, I was very happy with my TM6900 Super for years, but probably it's time to upgrade. Looking for a new Technomate, and my choice is restricted between TM6902 Super and TM5402HD M3.
Maybe TM6902 would be a very simple choice because it's similar to my good old TM6900, but I suspect it's an old box, although still in production yet. Probably TM5402HD M3 has newer hardware and software but less features and functionality.
These are my targets:
1) High quality blind scan tuner. Well, reading William-1's opinion, it seems that 6902 is better than 5402 in blind scan operation (you are a big guy, William!!!), but what about normal reception? Which is the best tuner (sensitivity, selectivity.....)? Also, 6902 has an internal DVB-T2, not available in 5402. But it seems that 5402 supports 16APSK/32APSK, is it true? If so, it makes a big differences!
2) 8280 & 8281. No problem in 6902 installing right patch. What about 5402? Is BISS supported?
3) New encryptions support through new patch. Well.... a good example would be Powervu. It seems OK in 5402, not sure in 6902.
4) Network player. Is it possible with these two boxes browsing my NAS to play my favourite video and audio files?
5) General quality. As I said, 6902 seems better but maybe a little bit older..... I don't know. What do you think?

1) TM5402HD M3 is much faster than any other sat box for blindscanning , i find it very usefull indeed !
The DVB-T2 tuner is the only real thing i can see as a postive for the TM6902 but even so any available channel on Digital is already on Satellite so i dont see that as anything special to be honest ...
And you were miss-informed neither TM6902 or TM5402 M3 supports 16APSK/32APSK

only certain DVB Cards supports 16APSK/32APSK im afraid .

2) TM5402HD M3 has an impreessive 100 LINES for adding BISS Keys so superior than many other TMate models

3) TM6902 HAS Not Seen any support for a year already and wont anytime in future either since TM6902 has been pretty much an obsolete box for quite some time already
and Technomate Do NOT Support obsolete boxes
so dont look for anything special because it wont happen
The TM5402HD M3 does get very good support inc. the PowerVU option and IPTV Also gets regular updates

4) i dont know about TM6902 but TM5402HD M3 WILL Play pretty much any format ive tested inc. Audio files too

5) TM6902 is very old and obsolete i cant see any reason whatsoever of why you would even consider this old and non supported box ??

Hopefully that answers all your questions now ?
Go with TM5402 M3 And dont look back is my advise for what its worth .

Yes you replied to all my questions, clear and useful! So, you have no doubt about this choice, and probably you convinced me. We will see in next weeks. Bad luck for 16APSK/32APSK.... when I read that (don't remember where....) it seemed strange to me..... in fact, it was totally wrong information.
Great for 100 BISS slot! Have you 8281 in 5402, too?
Also, you told about good media player. Do you know if files can be played from NAS, too? Or just via USB stick or hard disk?

If your looking for a Receiver that will Open 16/32 APSK Multistream transponders then look at the Openbox SX4/SX6

Yes I knew about Openbox, but I would like to stay with Technomate. I used TM from around 10 years, I had 3 receivers and I was so happy with my old TM6900 Super, so I don't want to change manufacturer.
If no multistream..... well, no problem. I got that with my TBS5925 USB device. What about 8281? Is it available in 5402 M3? Thanks.

Yes 8281 and 8280 still available on newer model
