TBS 5980 Signal Bars

Hey i just bought an TBS 5980 QBOX with FW 1.0.3.3.

but the signal bars makes me crazy , i just have 61% on BBC ONE HD , my TV Tuner Shows me 100%

idk how to be sure how much i really have.

DVB-S2; tuner manufacturers, realistic measurement failed.

DVB-S2 frequences; realistic metering, needed spectrometer.

But, to me, TBS 5980 signals a more realistic level.

Because DVB-S2 sub-threshold levels of the field, starts under the DVB-S land.

So, most manufacturers, metering indicator, starts at 1. ( For DVB-S2 tuners. )

Tuner manufacturers; for accurate representation of the level, there is not enough research and development work.

Yes my TBS 5980 Q-Box will show a lot lower Signal but infact there is no issues with it really there is not i can lock on any feed with TBS even if it shows 20% only ,lol's

TBS 5922 SE Will show much a bigger signal but its very unstable so really dont worry about it i dont even bother to look at signal much as long as there is something there its fine .

Examples ;

With Prof Tuners 7301 HD TV card.


With BDA drivers, signal level is not realistic ;

realistic ;

With Omicom S2 Rev.3 HD TV card.

same frequency, the same channel, the same signal level ;

All realistic ;

TBS5980 and Omicom S2 Rev.3 cards. Same demodulator. ( STV0903bac )


So, TBS5980 signal level more realistic.
