Türk Telekom gains TV viewers

The Turkish web TV service Tivibu now reaches more than 1.1 million people, according to Hakam Kanafani, the CEO of its operator, Türk Telekom.
Kanafani was quoted in Hurriyet, discussing the telco’s latest set of results.
These showed that Tivibu IPTV, which was launched last October and employs SeaChange technology, is now available in 30 cities following the success of Tivibu.
They also showed that the telco’s Fibre to the neighbourhood (FTTN) network now covers over 3 million homes.
Türk Telekom’s revenues in H1 amounted to TL5,855 million (€2,494 million), up from TL5,250 million in the corresponding period in 2010.
EBITDA stood at TL2,531 million (TL2,254 million), while the net income was TL1,115 million (TL1,147 million).
