stalled lan

Hi all, for the past week my lan was always stalled in the morning and eventualy I discovered that it was my vu+ dou that was causing it after being in standby overnight. after removing the lan cable from receiver my lan and broadband came back on and was ok until the box was put into standby the next night then next morn same thing again. I thought this was a problem with my box only but after talking to a friend he said his box was doing exactly the same thing. does anyone know what the problem is.

Is your VU doing anything overnight while in standby ? Downloading EPG's etc?

If not maybe you have a IP conflict causing the systen to stall. Make sure your VU is not using the same IP as anything else on your network.

Can honestly say this has never happened to me i doubt it the VU at fault.

yes, my box is set to download epg at night but why should this be a problem, my vu has got static address along with my server and pc but I have reserved these addresses on my router. I will try turning off epg download and see what happens.

I don't think the VU is the problem mate. If it is the VU then your problem is only happening over night so it may be the EPG if thats all it doing overnight, just a suggestion. If your running the VU as a server that is another area to look at.

hi, Im not using vu as server so its not the prob but I will try your suggestion about epg, thanks for your help.
